Life Story for Heinrich "Henry" Durr

DURR, Heinrich “Henry”- Peacefully, on June 7, 2017 at Heidehof Home for the Aged at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Katharina for 67 years. Loving father of Katharina Rothenburger (Gerd), Harry Durr and Elisabeth Coney (Dave). Proud grandfather of Ricky Jenkner, Sonja Jenkner (Max), Avrie and Derek Coney. Fondly remembered by Donna Byl.
Henry was born in Majos, Hungary on September 9, 1925, immigrating to Canada in 1953. He was a dedicated Group Committee Chairman of 14th Niagara Scouting, a longtime member and custodian of St. Paul’s English Lutheran Church and a member of the German Canadian Club. Henry was a machine fitter, retiring from Provincial Crane.
Special thanks to the many staff and volunteers at Lindenhaus, Queenston Place Retirement Residence, Linhaven and Fairhaven Day Program, Heidehof and the Alzheimer Society.
Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to call at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main Street on Sunday, June 18th from 1-3 pm. A service to celebrate Henry’s life will follow promptly at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.morseandson.com.
