Our family welcomes you!

Life Story for Albert "Al" Pilip

Albert "Al" Pilip
PILIP, Albert “Al” - Albert “Al” Pilip, 66, of St. Catharines, Ontario, passed away in the early minutes of October 22nd, 2017, surrounded by those who love him the most. Al was born in Hamilton and attended Scott Park S.S (Class of 1970). He was a proud millwright at Dofasco until workplace injury led him to early retirement. He was a lifelong resident of Hamilton until he moved to St. Catharines in 2006. Al will be deeply missed by his wife and best friend, Gail Pilip, of St. Catharines. Proud and loving father to his daughters, Sara & Mark Wellwood of Kingston, Alexandra & Nicholas Staudt of Toronto, Amanda Lucciola & Mike Dowd of Niagara Falls, and Melissa & Stu Levitt of St. Catharines. Al was the cherished Grampy to his beautiful grandchildren: Dylann, Lyla, Quinn, Lincoln, Kate, Xander, and Eli. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Rick Smith (Lily) of St. Catharines, his sister Helen Pilip of Hamilton, and much loved nieces and nephews. Al is predeceased by his parents, Josef and Gertrude, his brother Joe, and sisters, Frieda and Mary. Al loved his family, fishing, soccer, puttering in the garage, repairing reels, giving high fives, secret handshakes, and enjoying nature. Al was a true inspiration and faced all challenges with perseverance. His strength, kind heart and generous nature will be missed by all who knew him. Special thanks to the staff at Meadows of Dorchester for going above and beyond to make Al feel comfortable and loved. The family would also like to thank the staffs of Hotel Dieu Shaver Rehabilitation Centre and Chedoke Rehabilitation Centre for their support of Al over the years.
The family will receive friends at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main St., Niagara Falls, ON, on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 1-3 p.m., with a service to commemorate Al’s life at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Al’s name can be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Hotel Dieu Shaver Rehabilitation Centre.
