Senta Kerr
July 13, 1946 – July 14, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Senta Wilhelmine Kerr (nee Bott), age 72, on Saturday, July 14, 2018, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Senta passed away lovingly at the St. Catharines General Hospital cradled in the arms of Jim, her husband of 40 years, and holding the hand of her daughter, Susan. She will be greatly missed and remains forever in the hearts of her family, Mary, Joe and Ellie Kerr, Michelle and Mathew, and her many friends, especially Sissi, Peggy, Feli, Agnes and Val. Also, many kind and caring friends and other family members will miss and fondly remember Senta.
Senta met Jim on a blind date and from the day they met to now, for 40 years, they shared a wonderful and happy life together. Beginning with her mother, who died too soon in Germany, to her family in Canada, all her family brought immense joy and happiness to Senta. Her strength and love were always a source of support to her family throughout her life.
Senta was a very creative person and had real flair for doing things in unique ways. She loved creating beauty around her and spent many happy hours nurturing her garden paradise. Senta loved to entertain her family and friends at home and made sure that nothing was left undone to ensure the success of those occasions.
From very early in their marriage, Senta and Jim travelled to many different parts of the world. Senta was adventurous, and she truly loved to see and explore new places. From the magic of Disneyland in America, to the castles of Europe, along with numerous stops in between, they journeyed and were very happy doing so. However, her two favourite places on earth were Florida and her homeland of Bavaria. All the times she spent there with her mother, Jim and friends, especially her friend, Sissi, brought Senta great joy and contentment.
Senta was a remarkable woman and possessed a beautiful spirit. She was dedicated and devoted to her family. She was a kind, caring and loving wife and mother and was delighted to begin her new role as grandmother. She was also a true and loyal friend to those whom she met on the road of her life.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude and thanks to their many friends and the hospital physicians and nurses who were all so kind and considerate to Senta during her illness.
The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main St., on Saturday from 12 to 2 pm. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 pm at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.morseandson.com
