Life Story for Rosemary "Rhodie" Marshall

Rosemary "Rhodie" Marshall
MARSHALL, Rosemary “Rhodie” - It is with great sadness family and close friends announce the passing away of Rosemary Harriet Marshall on Sunday, July 22nd, 2018 at the age of 71. Known to all by her childhood nickname Rhodie, her presence will be terribly missed as she was “always there for you” wherever and whenever she was needed or sought out. A Newfoundland background influenced her reputation as a great conversationalist and her well known wit kept one on their toes throughout. Rhodie’s laughter and smiles, love and support will remain forever in the lives she touched. Throughout her difficult battle with brain cancer, Rhodie beautifully demonstrated how her very positive and often humorous outlook could slightly change the course of events. She worked so very hard to give us all more time. As such she softly passed away surrounded by an abundance of love. Rhodie is survived by her loving and grateful children Gary (Carol) Dyck, Debbie (Carl) Fast, Judie (Trevor) Thom, Jim (Nicole) Dyck and Elizabeth (Larry) Vaughan. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Janice (Nino) Mariglia, her brother Roy (Jean) Marshall and her sister-in-law Jane Marshall. She is pre-deceased by her brother William and her parents Roy and Harriet Marshall. The center of Rhodie’s life were her grandchildren. Nana Rhodie will be sadly missed by Erin, Mark, Craig, Brianne, Sophie, Jordanne (Peter), Paige, Hannah, Sadie, and Regan. They will always cherish their adventures with Nana and will continue to keep their memories of time spent with her close at heart. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Selfless to a tee, Rhodie continually kept herself busy as a working mother and endless community leader while raising 5 children and spending time with her grandchildren. The Progressive Conservative Party of Niagara Falls and the Lioness Club of St. David’s were a few of her favourite volunteer positions. While it was a natural that she lead HR initiatives for the MB Cancer Foundation, MB Addiction Research Foundation, Boeing Canada, Statistics Canada and in her later years Crawford, Smith and Swallow of Niagara Falls.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main St., on Monday from 10:30 am to 12 pm. A funeral service in celebration of her life will follow at 12 pm at the funeral home. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Niagara Falls Community Outreach, Project Share or Winnipeg Harvest. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.morseandson.com
