Life Story for
Michael Heath Davies Morgan
MORGAN, Michael Heath Davies B.A., M.A., L.B.S. – It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of “Mike” on Saturday August 11, 2018 with his family by his side. Mike was the cherished husband of Dorothy (nee Matson) of 55 years; the loving father of Shawn and Rose Morgan, David Morgan, and Colleen Morgan and Peter Van Hemmen; the dear “Papa” of Salina, Chloe and Heath; and great-granddaughter Lilly Anne. Mike will be deeply missed by Bill and Heather Matson, Bob and Lynn Matson, Dave Matson and Jen, Marilyn and Rick Woodruff and their families; as well as his large extended family and many great friends. Mike was born in Wales, Great Britain on December 16, 1937. He immigrated to Canada in 1952 where he met Dorothy. Mike would run from St. Davids to Third Avenue, Niagara Falls to be with the love of his life. This gave him the training to break Cross Country records at St. Bonaventure University. Mike dedicated 33 years as a teacher at Stamford Collegiate, but was best known for his master fire building skills and marathon euchre tournaments at their cottage at Sand Lake. Mike was very active in Freemasonry. He was 5 times Master of St. Marks Lodge 105 and a 32nd degree Mason in both the Scottish and York Rites. Mike had a great love for his family and a zest for life. He was known for his sharp intellect, generosity, warm smile, and on occasion being a prankster. Cremation has taken place. A service under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge will be held at the MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, Wednesday August 15th, at 2:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of life. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to St. Andrew’s Church or the Salvation Army.
