Life Story for William Hopeful "Hope" Trelford

TRELFORD, William “Hope” - March 12, 1950 - August 28, 2018 - With hearts broken open, we announce the peaceful passing of William “Hope” Trelford. As night turned to morning, Hope moved gently from love into Love, at his home, with his adoring family by his side. Left to mourn and cherish his memory is his wife Heather (nee MacCullough), daughter Amy Teakle (Carlson), son Andrew (Ila), his six beloved grandchildren: Hannah Teakle, Sarah Teakle, Jonathan Teakle, Jacob Teakle, Cadham Trelford, and Elliot Trelford, his dear sister Rose Brew (Bill), and brothers George Trelford (Theresa), David Trelford (Mark), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, “grandDogs”, and a lifetime of friends too numerous to name. Born to the late Clement & Leona Trelford, Hope lived his beautiful life in Niagara Falls, mostly on Rysdale Street. At 18 years old, Hope followed Kenny Staniforth (a treasured high school friend) on an adventure to rural Quebec. While working as a farmhand, he met Heather and it was love at first sight. Heather followed him back to Niagara Falls and together they created a family that extended beyond their children to include neighbours and just about everyone they met. Hope loved life and welcomed each day with gratitude and adventure. As a member of the Coffee Show Band, he helped create many wonderful musical memories both for his audiences and his family. Hope approached every job or project with a sense of excellence and pride, including his many years as a Machine Repairman with GM. After retirement, he thoroughly enjoyed investing time into his children and grandchildren. Hope journeyed through life with a sense of friendly optimism, always quick with a handshake, a smile, and a willingness to help in any situation. We love you to the moon and back… always and forever! Family will receive friends at the Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main Street, on Friday August 31st from 2-4 and 7-9 o’clock. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 11:00. Interment will follow at Lundy’s Lane Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to Hospice Niagara.
