HEALEY, James Edward (Jim) – Passed away peacefully at the age of 81 at Hospice Niagara on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, with his family by his side, after a long battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Helen for 60 wonderful years. Devoted and loving father of Chris Healey (Charlotte) and Jennifer Laugher (Scott). Adored Papa of Iain and Fiona MacLeod and step grandfather of Sarah Laugher. Brother of Sandra Weaver and Donald Healey. Brother-in-law of Mike Dzupin. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his parents James and Irene Healey and his sister Clara Benson. Jim was a police officer for 36 years, serving with Stamford Township Police, City of Niagara Falls Police and Niagara Regional Police, retiring in the rank of Superintendent in 1996. He was Past Master of Stamford Lodge #626 and King Edward VII Lodge #471 and Past District Deputy Grand Master of Niagara "B" District. He served on the Board of Directors of the Lundy's Lane Historical Society for many years. Jim’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, including his grand dogs Emma, Clifford, Mhairi, Cooper and Emmett.
The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main St., Niagara Falls, ON, on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Masonic service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7 p.m. A service to celebrate the life of Jim will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 7820 Portage Rd., Chippawa, on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to Hospice Niagara.
