WALKER, John “Jack” – Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday September 29, 2018 at the age of 95. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn (2000). Devoted father of Linda (the late Norm) White and John “Larry” (Brenda) Walker. Adored grandfather of Jennifer White, Erica (Mike) Carroll, Jeff (Chris) White and Allison Walker. Loving great-grandfather of Owen and Connor White. Fondly missed by his large extended family and his dear friend Helen Fitzgerald. Predeceased by his first wife Monica (1955). John enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942 and was assigned to the Typhoon Fighter Bomber Squadron 438 as a mechanic. After returning home from the war John worked for Ontario Hydro for 33 years at the Sir Adam Beck Generating Station. In his retirement he enjoyed taking care of his orchard and his gardens alongside his loving family. His family would like to thank all Nurses and PSWs for their wonderful care. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main St., on Monday October 22, 2018 from 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday 10 am to 12 pm followed by a celebration of John’s life at 12 pm. Interment will follow at Lundy’s Lane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund or Hospice Niagara.
