Condolence From: Jane Reid Chapell

Condolence: My brothers and I were so sorry to learn of Matt's passing. He was such a good friend to our father, Jim Reid, who passed away in July.

Matt was such a lovely man ... a gentleman, in the true sense of the word, with a wonderful sense of humour. My father, who was a good judge of character, was very fond of him.

Condolence From: Chris Reid

Condolence: Matt was a good friend to my father Jim Reid who passed in July. They spent years on the links and having lunch with the golf buddies when golf was no longer an option. When dad was sick he made sure to visit and we last saw him at Dads celebration of life in October, 2018. We all knew Matt as a very kind and decent man. Our entire family was sorry to hear of your loss and only just learned of it. Very sorry we couldn’t be there in person. All of our best and condolences. Chris and Rosa Reid

Condolence From: Robin Reid

Condolence: I just learned of Matt's passing and was very sad to hear of it. He was a close friend of my father, James Reid, who passed away in July of 2018. It was through that friendship that I came to know Matt. He was a wonderful man and we kept in touch through email after I returned to the USA following my father's death. It was due to his lack of communication over the holiday season that I became concerned. My sister found this obituary and brought it to my attention. My condolences to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.

Condolence: I am a "Acres"/Hatch engineer ramping down after 43 years at the company.
Matt was a legend when I started work in the 70s and an inspiration throughout much of my career.
The picture posted on the obit is a perfect image for the way he cruised through his career. He always seemed to calm and collected and 'amused' by the battle. He was exceptionally knowledgable and his sense of humour was uplifting. He was a legend in his own time and will be missed by averyone that he touched.

He donated so much of his time as a volunteer cancer driver and enjoyed the company of those he drove to their appointments. His love for his family, his many friends and good music will leave us with fondest memories of our good times with him. Rest in peace Matt, you have earned it.
