George Thomas "Tom" Mousseau
MOUSSEAU, George Thomas (Tom) –It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tom on October 18th, 2019 at the Age of 84. Beloved husband of Gail (Snyder) for 57 Years. Devoted father of Jennifer, David and Daniel (Shelly). Adored grandfather of Alexandria (Connor), Danielle, Thomas and Emily. Great Grandfather “Pop Pops” to Ellie and Jaxon.
Dear brother of Noreen (Jack) Merrett. Fondly remembered by nieces and nephews Kelly, Jimmy (Norma), Nancy (Brent) and Tim (Anna). Tom was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, to George and Ivy Mousseau. They came to Niagara Falls in the early 1940’s. He attended Fallsview Public School, and then Stamford Collegiate. Tom enlisted in the US Army in the early 1950’s, served honourably and was chosen as a distinguished member of the President’s Hundred Riflemen. Tom later entered the teaching profession and worked as an educator / principal for thirty-three years with the Niagara South Board of Education. Tom was a dedicated member of the Gentlemen Songsters and the Niagara Men’s Chorus. Tom enjoyed his retirement, spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren at home in Niagara Falls and at his second home, Dillon Cove on Georgian Bay.
The family would like to thank Dr. Chong, Dr. Pang and the staff at Bella Retirement Home for their compassion and care. The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls, on Tuesday October 22 from 2–4 pm and 7-9 pm.
A service to celebrate the life of Tom will be held at Morse & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday October 23rd at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Interment will follow at Drummond Hill Cemetery.
Those who wish may make a memorial donation to Niagara Nutrition Partners, or Tender Wishes Foundation which will support Toms love for children. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.morseandson.com
