Condolence: Dear Paul,
I just heard about Cynthia’s passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I appreciated both of your support as a young teacher at QMS many years ago. I loved Cynthia’s sense of humour and great laugh but also her love of music. I am sure that she and Jan are catching up in heaven and organizing great parties full of music and fun. There is a new star in the heavens. Take of yourself!

Condolence: Dear Paul, Stephanie, Stephen and Roma,
You all know how much Cynthia meant to me as a friend, soulmate and colleage. She never ceased to encourage and support me musically and professionally when we worked together in Halifax. I also was fortunate to know and work with her father Roland Whitten whom I loved dearly. I will remember
with great joy all the times we "ate, drank and made merry"together with Pat and Paul rolling their eyes at the
two of us!
Rest in Jesus loving arms my beloved friend till we meet again.

It was a great shock to read the sad news of Cynthia’s death.
My heartfelt condolences to all.
Meanwhile I heard from Barbara that she attended the service, which made me very thankful to know that she could represent me and share in the celebration of Cynthia’s wonderful and gifted life that enriched SO many’ peoples lives, including mine.
I have the fondest memories from my early days of music teaching!
I wish you much strength in this difficult time .
May all those great memories help you in coping with your loss.
Hope to see you in Halifax.

Condolence: Dear Paul, Stephanie and Steven,
I was saddened to learn of Cynthia’s untimely passing. My girls, Carmen and Melisa learnt so much about singing under Cynthia’s leadership of St James Junior Choir during your family’s Halifax days. I still have the tape she made and many wonderful memories of all the beautiful music she provided for St. Jame congregation to aid our worship. Those difficult Rutter anthems were a highlight.
Kwan was amazed at how the children responded to her strictness, thoroughness and desire for perfection. He often listened/ read while rehearsals took place on Saturday afternoons rather than waste gas driving back and forth to Purcell’s Cove.
I hope such memories of your dear wife/ mother will help the grieving process.
With sincere sympathy Doreen Wong

Condolence: Cynthia is such a lovely, caring and giving person.
She was the choir director at St. John's when my children, Samantha and Benjamin were young. When my daughter was 6 she took piano lessons with Cynthia and it was during that time, when she discovered that Samantha had a gift to sing.
Thank you Cynthia, for uncovering this talent in my daughter. It turned out to be an invaluable gift for Samantha and we will be forever grateful.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you, Paul and your family.
Cynthia will be missed.

Condolence: Our deepest sympathies to all the family. We were so sad to hear about Cynthia’s final months and her passing. Cynthia’s stays in Lewisporte and Herring Neck were always full of connecting, remembering and fun. I recall mine and Reg’s visit to PEI one summer has one of the most memorable. Joy and I are so glad that we had our most recent time together with our stay at Cynthia’s and Paul’s in Niagara Falls. She will certainly be missed.

Condolence: Cynthia was a wonderful friend to me, and director of music at St John’s Niagara Falls until she left and headed for Inuvik. It was a delight to have her and Paul as part of our parish. We had much fun together and shared many stories and I was the benefactor of many of her kindnesses. She had the children perform amazing musicals, I still have a copy of Elijah! So sad to know of her early death. Gone too soon. Such a bright light and wonderful woman. Much love and many prayers to all of you.
