Our Support Staff

Neil Stoetzel, Funeral Assistant

Born in Brandon, Manitoba, Neil moved to Niagara at the age of 5, where at an early age he assisted his parents in the operation of Black Horse Garage and Grocery, their family business.  Neil attended Allanburg Public School and is a graduate of Pelham High School.

Neil’s desire to help others in need and his interest in cultural differences brought him employment as a part time Funeral Director Assistant in the beginning of September 2009.  Neil previously served 34 years of employment as a custodian for the Niagara District School Board, spending the latter 28 years at Ridgeway Public where he was known as “Mr. Neil”.

As a caring member of Niagara, Neil volunteers with several bingo fund raisers for organizations including, Royal Canadian Legion of Fort Erie, Women’s Addiction Recovery Meditation, Alcohol Recovery In Dignity, Niagara Falls Art Gallery, Ridgeway Public and Delta Bingo for Epilepsy.

Neil is proud of his family of 1 son, 2 daughters, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  He enjoys his daily walks with his dogs and reading.  He has a special devotion for his fish pond and gardens, and has travelled to several countries including Thailand, the Philippines, Mexico, Czech Republic, most islands in the Caribbean and plans to visit Germany, Poland, and Hungary.
