Life Story for Vincenzo Donato Baldassarro

Vincenzo Donato Baldassarro
BALDASSARRO, Vincenzo Donato - Our hearts are heavy as we announce the passing of Vincenzo Donato Baldassarro on October 10, 2018 at Juravinski Cancer Hospital in Hamilton, surrounded by his loving family and friends, at the age of 57, after an extremely hard-fought battle with Mantle Cell Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Vincenzo (Jimmy) is now reunited with his beloved parents, Vincenzo and Annunziata Baldassarro.
Vincenzo was born on March 15, 1961 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He grew up in a large, loving family with two brothers and many cousins. On August 8, 1987, he married his best friend and soulmate, Felicia Baldassarro. A devoted and loving husband, Vincenzo and Felicia were married for 31 years. Felicia was always, always by his side, in sickness and in health, through all good times and bad.
Vincenzo was a dedicated, supportive and cherished father to Daniel (Justyne), Matthew, and Alexandria Baldassarro. Loving and adored brother of Ben (Maria) Baldassarro and Paul (Patricia) Baldassarro. Dear son-in-law of Cristina Boncore. Loving brother-in-law of Leo (Susan) Greco. Beloved uncle to Vince, Michael and Nicola Baldassarro, and Mitchell and Dalton Greco. Treasured nephew to his many aunts and uncles. He will forever be in the hearts of his best friends/cousins; Paul, Joe, Ema and Matthew Di Flumeri (and families), Donna and Paolo Bonassisa (and families), and his beloved family in Italy.
Vincenzo touched many people’s lives and will be forever remembered and greatly missed by his extended family, friends, and co-workers.
Vincenzo was extremely proud of his children and their accomplishments. He was the happiest when family was together. Vincenzo was a dedicated teacher for the Niagara Catholic District School Board (St. Michael’s) and coach for the Niagara Falls Red Raiders and Home for Girls Soccer.
Vincenzo was a mentor and role model to so many. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed many special times with his family at his cottage in Muskoka. He loved music, especially The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. He was a hard worker. He enjoyed travelling. Vincenzo was a strong and faithful man. He was a dreamer.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Juravinski Cancer Hospital in Hamilton for their constant and attentive treatment.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main St., on Sunday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass in celebration of his life will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 4673 Victoria Avenue in Niagara Falls on Monday at 10:30 am.
“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast, who has persevered under trial, who has fought the good fight, for when he has stood the test, when he has finished the race, and has kept the faith, he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” – James 1:12
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want, He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside still waters, He restores my soul … surely goodness and mercy shall follow me, all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” – Psalm 23
Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.
